New school year just around the corner

UNDATED - The back-to-school bells will soon be ringing across northeast Georgia.

Friday August 5 appears to be the day-of-choice for most school systems in the area. Eight of them plan to begin classes that day - including Hall County.

Next is Monday August 8 - with four systems opening the new year that day, including Gainesville.

Here is a list of start dates for several public school systems in northeast Georgia and the private schools in Hall County:

PUBLIC

August 1 - Barrow
August 5 - Banks, Dawson, Habersham, Jackson, Lumpkin, Hall, Commerce, Buford
August 8 - Forsyth, White, Gainesville, Gwinnett
August 22 - Jefferson

PRIVATE

August 4 - Jubilee Christian
August 10 - Westminster
August 11 - Lakeview
August 15 - Brenau Academy, Riverside, Heritage
