Region 7-AAA well-represented in year-end awards

Despite no Region 7-AAA team reaching the championship game for the first time since 2000, the region was handed down several honors Saturday by The Georgia Sports Writers Association.

Whitney Randolph of Johnson, who led the Lady Knights to their first Final Four in 30 years, along with Beth Adcock of Flowery Branch and Gainesville's Meg Hensen were all given Honorbale Mentions in Class AAA.

Franklin County's Oceana Jackson was also named an Honorbale Mention.

Jackson County's Tynishia Berry was named to the Class AAAA First Team.

Jefferson's Shenita Moon was named to the Class A First Team. Teammate Shalita Brooks and Lakeview Academy's Chelsey Chastain were named as Honorbale Mentions.
