UNDATED - Seen any frost this morning? Don't be surprised if you do. A frost advisory for the Gainesville area was posted about midnight last night and includes a number of other places in northeast Georgia.
Another one will be in effect tonight.
The affected area includes Rabun, Habersham, Stephens, Franklin, Hart, Elbert, Pickens, Forsyth, Hall, Banks, Jackson, Madison, Gwinnett and Barrow counties.
In addition, there is a freeze warning for tonight for several places - Hall, White, Lumpkin, Dawson, Towns, Union, Gilmer and Fannin counties. The low in Gainesville tomorrow morning is expected to be around 30.
Snow flurries were reported in the northeast Georgia mountains Tuesday and even as far south as Buford.
"Cold air is coming in a little bit early for this time of the year," Weather Channel meteorologist Richard Lewelling told the Georgia News Network, "but a large cold air mass is continuing to funnel down all this cold air into the Peach State."
Lewelling added, "Normally we will see our first freeze come into play usually around (Oct. 20) in the northern counties, but its usually around (Nov. 1) in the Atlanta area."
