GAINESVILLE - Hall County elections officials have a number now on how many people will be eligible to vote in the November 8 city elections in the county.
Elections Director Anne Phillips Lea says it totals more than 13,000 - led by Gainesville, of course, with more than 10,000.
The breakdown by race is as follows:
CITY BLACK WHITE ASIAN HISPANIC OTHER TOTAL*
CLERMONT 1 340 none 2 2 = 374
FLOWERY BRANCH 80 923 9 14 24 = 1,197
GAINESVILLE 1,369 6,927 97 323 171 = 10,241
GILLSVILLE 3 153 none none 1 = 162
LULA 59 641 3 3 10 = 816
OAKWOOD 80 769 5 32 22 = 1,040
*Total does not equal the sum of the numbers presented because of the way the elections office counts active, inactive and eligible voters.
