McEver traffic shift delayed

GAINESVILLE - A traffic shift which was planned Tuesday on McEver Road Extension, west of Gainesville, where a road widening is underway, has been delayed.

The shift has not been rescheduled yet, and Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) officials say an announcement will be made as soon as a date is selected. When the shift does occur, traffic will be routed onto the two new lanes and work will switch to the old lanes which will be upgraded.

GDOT officials say last week the project is ahead of schedule and is expected to be finished by the end of February.
