<p>Josh Smith grounded into a double play that scored Joey Side to break a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning, lifting Georgia to a 5-4 victory over Alabama on Friday.</p><p>Georgia (15-3, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) took a 4-2 lead in the fifth inning, courtesy of a Justin Holmes two-run triple that scored Bobby Felmy and Clint Sammons.</p><p>The Crimson Tide (14-7, 0-1) tied the game at 4 in the eighth on an Evan Bush two-run homer that scored Allen Rice.</p><p>Michael McCallister added a solo home run in the second inning for Alabama.</p><p>Bulldogs reliever Will Startup (3-0) allowed a hit and had a strikeout in three innings. Starter Paul Lubrano struck out four in six innings.</p><p>Tide reliever Matt Downs (0-1) allowed one earned run in two innings pitched.</p>
