GAINESVILLE - Brenau University hosted the 1999 Miss America Monday for a discussion on diabetes.
Nicole Johnson's talk was titled "Living a Happy and Fulfilling Life Despite Diabetes."
Johnson is a Type One diabetic - and drew form her personal experience with the disease, as well as the four years she spent as the international spokesperson for diabetic issues.
The program was sponsored by Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Georgia Power and the Mu Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity at Brenau.
