GAINESVILLE - New charges have been filed against a Lula man who was still at large Tuesday morning after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop on Jesse Jewell Parkway in Gainesville on foot Monday morning.
Capt. Jeff Strickland of the Hall County Sheriff's Office says James Eugene Shockley, 18, was last seen running through the parking lot at Gainesville Municipal Court which is a few blocks from where the car he was in was stopped.
Capt. Strickland says the car, driven by Shockley's wife, Peaches, 22, was stopped near Longstreet Clinic. She has been charged with driving on a suspended license, defective equipment, expired tag and having no insurance. Her husband was already wanted on charges of obstruction of an officer and driving on a suspended license. As a result of Monday's incident, according to Capt. Strickland, he faces additional charges of fleeing and eluding.
