ATLANTA - Fulton County Lt. Clarence Huber said Atlanta Falcons cornerback Juran Bolden was arrested Saturday night at Lenox Mall and could face a felony charge for theft in receiving a stolen car.
``He just arrived at the jail about 30 minutes ago, so I won't have much information until he's processed and put in the computer,'' Huber said at 11:50 p.m. ``I don't have the exact charges, but I'm told they might be theft for receiving a stolen automobile, possession of marijuana and a tag violation.''
Huber indicated that Bolden was the only Falcons player involved. The lieutenant did not know if other people were arrested along with Bolden.
Team spokesman Aaron Salkin said owner Arthur Blank and vice president of football operations Ron Hill both were aware of Bolden's arrest.
``We're still trying to gather as much information as we can,'' Salkin said. ``Until then, we don't have further comment.''
Bolden, a five-year NFL veteran, was eligible to come off the physically unable to perform list Tuesday. The 29-year-old native of Tampa, Fla., returned to the league last year after spending two seasons in the Canadian Football League.
Bolden finished with 41 tackles and tied for the team lead with four interceptions. He established career highs with 14 games played and six starts, but he underwent reconstructive knee surgery after rupturing his patella tendon in Atlanta's 20-6 playoff loss at Philadelphia Jan. 11.
