ARKADELPHIA, ARKANSAS - Valdosta State's special teams produced two touchdowns and the Blazers held off a 14-point fourth-quarter comeback to beat Arkansas-Monticello 31-28 Saturday. <br>

Valdosta State (6-0, 4-0 Gulf South Conference) made it 31-14 early in the fourth with a 64-yard pass from Tyran Robinson to Tyrone Jordan. <br>

But Arkansas-Monticello (2-4, 1-3) scored twice in the remaining 10 minutes, on an 18-yard run by quarterback Cory Allred and a 14-yard pass from Allred to Devon Stewart with 48 seconds remaining. <br>

The Blazers scored 24 unanswered points in the first half, starting with a blocked punt return for 5 yards by Wesley Brown. Aaron Jenkins then returned a punt 56 yards to score early in the second quarter. <br>

The Boll Weevils were led by Cory Allred, who was 29-of-54 for 374 yards, throwing three TD passes and rushing for another. <br>
<br>
Barrett Wilkes was 23-of-38 for 216 yards with three interceptions. Robinson's only throw was the fourth-quarter TD pass. Jenkins led in rushing, with 86 yards on 21 carries.
