TUSKEGEE, ALABAMA - Jameel Walters rushed for 80 yards, including a 41-yard TD run, as Fort Valley State used a series of big plays to defeat Tuskegee 28-21 on Saturday.<br>

The Wildcats (5-3, 4-2 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) tied the game at 7-7 on a 50-yard pass from Cecil Lester to Marcus Bentley midway through the first quarter.<br>

Walters' TD put Fort Valley ahead 14-7, followed by a 3-yard scoring run by Derrick Wimbush. The Wildcats then went ahead 28-7 on another big play a 53-yard interception return by Chris Jacobs late in the first half.<br>

Ralph Gordon threw a pair of TDs to rally the Golden Tigers (2-5, 1-4). He connected with Kenneth Henderson on a 6-yard score in the third quarter, then tossed an 11-yarder to Samuel Brown with 1:30 to play.<br>

Gordon finished 19-of-33 for 159 yards and the interception Jacobs returned for a touchdown. Lawrence Ervin ran for 52 yards on 14 carries.<br>

Lester was 10-of-21 for 197 yards and no interceptions. Bentley had three catches for 94 yards.
