ATLANTA - Coca-Cola Co. said Tuesday it had signed a seven-year agreement to become the exclusive soft drink and water supplier to Regal Cinemas Inc.
Coca-Cola said the Regal account was a win from Pepsico Inc., maker of Pepsi-Cola.
Coca-Cola's revenue expectations from the agreement with the 302-theater chain aren't being disclosed. The agreement includes concession sales and showings of ads before film screenings.
Coca-Cola said it already had agreements with United Artists and Edwards Theatres, which are two of Knoxville, Tenn.-based Regal Entertainment Group's three units.
Last month, Pepsico dealt Coca-Cola two blows in the cola war. United Airlines replaced Coca-Cola with Pepsi on all its flights, and the National Football League ended a 19-year sponsorship relationship with Coca-Cola in favor of Pepsi.
