NEW YORK - EarthLink says it has restored its Internet-access service following an outage Thursday that affected up to 1.5 million of its customers.
Service was interrupted Thursday morning due to a fluctuation in the power supply at EarthLink headquarters in Atlanta.
Spokeswoman Carla Shaw said the power supply problem occurred at the same time EarthLink was testing its power backup system. As a result, up to 1.5 million of EarthLink's 4.9 million customers were unable to gain access to the Internet for a couple of hours.
