PEACHTREE CITY - About 120 people were on hand for a private party to open Ted Turner's newest venture -- a bison restaurant in Peachtree City south of Atlanta.
The 63-year-old Turner and business partner -- Longhorn Steakhouse founder George McKerrow Junior -- greeted friends, family and reporters last night at Ted's Montana Grill.
Turner, McKerrow and Peachtree City Mayor Steve Brown cut the restaurant's ribbon. It was attached to a booth inscribed with actor John Wayne's quote: ``Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway.''
McKerrow says he and Turner hope to open more grills in metro Atlanta. The Peachtree City restaurant opens to the public next week and will also sell chicken, fish and beef.
The grills will feature 25 versions of bison burger.
The first Ted's Montana Grill opened in January in Columbus, Ohio, near Nationwide Arena.
Turner is considered the nation's largest bison rancher. He has 30-thousand animals -- a tenth of the U-S herd -- scattered on one-point-75 (m) million acres he owns in the West.
