LAKELAND, Fla.- Publix pharmacies in Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama are now accepting prescription-drug discount cards offered to low-income seniors by major drug manufacturers.
Retail pharmacies and manufacturers jointly contribute the discount.
"Customers simply show their discount cards when dropping off prescriptions at their local Publix pharmacies. Publix processes each claim electronically to verify eligibility and determine the final cost based on that manufacturer's plan," said Publix Spokesman Lee Brunson.
Pharmaceutical manufacturers currently offering prescription-drug discount cards include Eli Lilly, Glaxo-SmithKline, Pfizer and Novartis.
