ATLANTA - The Home Depot made its second foray into the Mexican home-improvement market Wednesday, buying the four-store Del Norte chain in Juarez, near El Paso, Texas.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal is subject to approval by the Mexican government. Del Norte's chief executive, Eduardo Cantu, will join Home Depot's Mexican management team.
Home Depot also said it would open new stores in Mexicali and Tijuana by the end of the year.
Last year, Home Depot bought Total HOME's four stores in 2001. They are in Monterrey and Mexico City.
