SAN ANTONIO - The New Braunfels Smoker Company plans to close its 90,000-square-foot plant this year, lay off 170 employees, and shift production to plants in Georgia and outside the United States.
The president of the company and of Columbus-Georgia-based Bradley Leisure Products, Marv Leiberman, said the plant in New Braunfels will stop manufacturing heavy-gauge steel smokers, grills and fryers on August first and close October first.
Privately held W.C. Bradley And Company bought the New Braunfels company in 1997.
