Ball Corp. to relocate plastics operations to Colorado

BROOMFIELD, COLORADO - Ball Corporation announced Monday it would move its plastic container operations from Smyrna to Colorado - where it's based - to cut costs. <br>

The move was expected to be complete by the end of 2004. The company's packaging office and corporate headquarters already are located in Broomfield, Colorado. <br>
<br>
Most of the 54 employees in Smyrna have been asked to relocate to Colorado. The company estimates relocation costs of $1.6 million to be recorded in the fourth quarter. <br>
<br>
Ball started its plastic operations in 1994 in Georgia.
