CLEVELAND - A Hall County man has been charged with aggravated assault following a shooting early Sunday in White County.
Chief Deputy John O'Brien of the White County Sheriff's Department said the victim, Chevy James Saunders, and the suspect, Robert James Williamson, were visiting friends in Cleveland when they got into an argument.
According to O'Brien, Williamson got a 9 mm handgun and shot Saunders in the abdomen.
Saunders was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, where he underwent surgery. He was listed in stable condition at last check.
