A Hoschton man was arrested in a smash and grab burglary incident at a business on Winder Highway Thursday.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to an alarm at the Joint Smoke Shop and Lounge on Tuesday morning. They arrived to discover that the front door had been busted with glass on the ground.
Investigators were able to use video evidence from the scene of the crime to identify Charles Andrew Kucera, 38, as the suspect in the case.
According to the initial investigation, Kucera allegedly smashed the front door glass to the business with the intent to commit theft. The damage estimate exceeds $700, according to HCSO. There is no current evidence that anything was stolen from the business.
Investigators later located Kucera in the 3400 block of Hamilton Mill Road and arrested him Thursday afternoon.
Kucera remains in the Hall County Jail on the felony charge without bond.
