A Hiawassee man has been arrested for possession of fentanyl.
According to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), 35-year-old Thomas Brandon Wooten was pulled over Monday.
The sheriff’s office was patrolling known drug areas at the time.
They found a container with an amount of fentanyl in it that officials say field-tested positive.
Wooten was arrested and charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, driving while license suspended or revoked, and missing tail lights. The latter two charges were misdemeanors.
