An Atlanta woman remains in the Hall County Jail following an investigation into a Pharmacy Prescription Fraud case in Oakwood from last month.
The Oakwood Police Department reports officers were dispatched to the CVS pharmacy on McEver Rd. in Oakwood on May 25 for reports of fraud.
Upon arrival, a pharmacist reported that a woman had gone to the location and allegedly attempted to obtain medication using a counterfeit prescription. The pharmacist reportedly checked every pharmacy in the city and discovered they had filled the prescription for the suspect. The name for the prescription had been flagged, prompting the pharmacist to call 911.
The woman, identified as Olivia Braden, 30, left the location before law enforcement arrived.
A detective investigating the case was able to use identification Braden presented to the pharmacy to identify her as the suspect in the case. He reportedly found that she was traveling all over the metro area filling prescriptions by using stolen identities and counterfeit prescriptions forms.
Days later, on May 30, the detective located a vehicle matching the description of Braden’s at the Oakwood Publix Shopping Center. Moments later, the store called the detective and confirmed that she was inside trying to fill in another counterfeit prescription.
Braden was subsequently arrested. She faces the following charges:
- Possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance with intent distribute
- Forgery 1st degree
- Fraud- identity fraud person or business
- Hold--other county
- Forgery 1st degree
- Forgery 1st degree
- Forgery 1st degree
- Fraud- identity fraud person or business
- Fraud- identity fraud person or business
- Fraud- identity fraud person or business
- Possession of schedule IV drugs
