U.S. postal worker arrested for alleged package thefts in Pickens County

A United States postal worker was arrested for alleged package thefts in Pickens County Friday. 
 
According to a Facebook post from the Pickens County Sheriff's Office, a joint investigation into Michael J. Turner, 36, of Jasper, began after “multiple” complaints of package theft and undelivered mail. 
 
The investigation was conducted alongside the Jasper Police Department and the United States Postal Service Office of the Inspector General. 
 
Turner was taken into custody on theft-related charges and transported to the Pickens County Adult Detention Center.
 
PCSO said the case remains under investigation. The department asked anyone in the area who believes they may have been afflicted to contact the department at 706-253-8911.
