City of Lilburn to bring back 'town favorite' event

By Helen Park
The City of Lilburn’s Rock the Park summer event will return next weekend. The free event will be held at Lilburn City Park Saturday, June 7.

The event will include a lineup of food trucks and live music. Attendees are welcome to bring a cooler with their own snacks and drinks if desired. The city also recommended to bring essentials such as a picnic blanket, chairs, bug spray and sunscreen and anything else needed to enjoy the outdoor event.

The music lineup for the event begins with the opening act, Wesley and the Ridge Riders. Named after the Wesley Ridge Neighborhood in Lilburn, the self-described “suburban dad band” will play popular hits.

Afterwards, the headliner act, Her Majesty's Request, will take the stage with 1960’s British pop and rock songs.

The festivities will kick off at 7:00 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m. Public parking will be available at the Greenway Trail parking lot located on Main St., Lilburn First Baptist Church, Lilburn City Hall and the Salem Missionary Heritage Hall parking lot. Accessible parking will be able on a first-come basis at Lilburn City Park on 76 Main St.
