Hall County officials said that they began receiving reports of a possible tornado near Thompson Bridge Road at around 7 p.m. While no warning was issued, they went ahead and activated the outdoor warning sirens due to credible sightings.
Zach Brackett with Hall County Emergency Management said that there has been limited structural damage but several trees were down near Lakewood Baptist Church, with staff surveying the area.
Brackett said they will work with the National Weather Service to conduct a storm survey once the weather ceases.
He said to remain vigilant overnight as severe weather continues.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for northeast Georgia amid reports of hail and a siren going off in North Hall Friday.
According to reports from listeners, hail the size of a half-dollar was seen falling in the North Hall area.
NWS is going to keep the severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 11 p.m. Friday night for portions of north Georgia including Banks, Barrow, Dawson, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson, Lumpkin, and White Counties.
“Some, if not many, storms will be severe, with damaging wind gusts up to 60-mph and hail up to the size of a quarter,” NWS’ newest report at 6:35 p.m. reads.
A video posted to the Facebook group “Eyewitness News Hall County GA” showed what appeared to be a small tornado forming off of Dawsonville Highway.

There have also been reports of sirens going off in North Hall, which may have been caused by the tornado but no official word is out yet on the reason behind the siren.
