A Hall County man who was arrested in December on allegations of possessing child pornography was arrested again after more illicit materials were reportedly found in his possession.
William Landrum English, age 23 of Gainesville, was first arrested on December 13 at his home on Wellington Avenue in northwest Hall County after a cybertip reportedly led to the discovery of a sexually explicit video. He was later released from the Hall County Jail on just over $32,000 bond.
However, Hall County Sheriff's Office officials said that the arrest led to further searches of two cell phones that were in English's home during his December arrest.
"The investigation uncovered 437 images and videos depicting children being sexually assaulted," sheriff's office spokesperson B.J. Williams said Tuesday.
That discovery led to new warrants being obtained for English's arrest, with deputies taking him into custody at his home on Monday, March 24. He now faces hundreds of new charges.
As of Tuesday afternoon, English remained in the Hall County Jail without bond. Williams said while the investigation is still ongoing into English's online activity, there are no other suspects currently being investigated and none of the victims depicted in the materials are believed to be local.
