The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) is reporting a fatal gunshot wound from Saturday after a car crash.
At around 8 p.m., officials said they responded to the scene on Hillcrest Avenue to find 17-year-old Aristeo Ramirez of Gainesville dead from a gunshot wound.
Their ongoing investigation indicates this was not a random crime and it is believed Ramirez was shot and then crashed the vehicle.
GPD is reporting that another 16-year-old teen was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) with a gunshot wound to the foot.
Officials said the second teen fled the area on foot prior to police arrival.
