First babies of the new year announced for local medical centers

Three area medical centers have announced the first New Year’s babies for 2025.

Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Gainesville announced that Stetson Michael Lingerfelt was born on Jan. 1 at 12:32 a.m. to Kayla Hamrick and Shawn Lingerfelt of Cumming. 

The baby boy weighed in at 6-lbs., 14-oz. and measured 21-inches. 

Stetson was delivered by Tiffany Tucker, a midwife with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) OB-GYN. 

NGMC Braselton announced that Westley Greenewald was born at 2 a.m. to Kayla and Stephen Greenewald of Sugar Hill. 

Westley weighed in at 7-lbs., 11-oz. and measured in at 19.75-inches. 

He was delivered by Kasey Pitts, who is also a midwife with NGPG’s OB-GYN. 

NGMC Habersham has confirmed the birth of their New Year’s baby. 

Walker James Crump was born on January 1, 2025 at 5:26 a.m. to Anna and Nathan Crump of Toccoa. Walker weighed in at 6lbs. 9 oz. and measured at 19.5 inches.

Walker was delivered by Amy Howard, MD, a physician with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group OB/GYN
