A man was injured after what police called an accidental self-shooting on the downtown Gainesville square early Monday morning.
Few details about the incident have been made public so far, as Gainesville Police Lt. Kevin Holbrook said the investigation is in the early stages.
"It appears an adult male did have a gun in his waistband and accidentally shot himself in the groin area," Holbrook said.
The man was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and, at last report, was in stable condition.
No one else was injured in the incident.
