Georgia Heart Institute recently welcomed a new cardiologist to its practice.
The institute announced Wednesday non-invasive cardiologist Moghniuddin Mohammed, MD, joined the practice.
“I believe my role as a general cardiologist is to be a guide and advocate for my patients,” said Dr. Mohammed. “My approach is to provide them with all the treatment options available and to help them choose the treatment that they feel is best for them through the process of shared decision-making.”
Dr. Mohammed’s education includes completing a fellowship in clinical cardiology at Rochester Regional Health in New York state and a fellowship in cardiac arrhythmia at The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
He previously has practiced as a hospitalist physician at St. Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, Missouri, and served as a clinical assistant professor at The University of Kansas Medical Center. Most recently, he earned a master’s degree in bioinformatics with a clinical research emphasis from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Prior to joining the Georgia Heart Institute, Dr. Mohammed was Chief Resident at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York, while completing his internal medicine residency with Catholic Health System. He also completed an externship at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina. He began his medical training at the Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India.
“I am excited to join Georgia Heart Institute, and it will be an honor to provide quality heart health care in several fast-growing communities,” Dr. Mohammed said. “In addition to caring for patients in the clinics, I also look forward to advancing my interest in research, focusing on ways to reduce costs and length of stay.”
Dr. Mohammed is now seeing patients at Georgia Heart Institute in Cumming, 900 Sanders Road, Suite A; in Dawsonville, 22 Prestige Lane, Suite 305; and in Dahlonega, 134 Ansley Drive, Suite 400. He will also be available for telehealth appointments through Georgia Heart Institute’s location in Cleveland, 2578 Helen Highway.
