A highly demanded fix to crossings along State Route 365 for Habersham County commuters will go under construction this week.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is announcing the start of construction to reduce conflict U-Turns (RCUTs), at the 365 crossings of Alto Mud Creek Road and Yonah Road.
The RCUTs are meant to prohibit side street traffic from traveling straight through a mainline intersection or making a left turn.
GDOT officials expect lane restrictions in these areas once road work begins. The construction projects and lane restrictions could last through the projected completion date of June 2024, weather permitting.
