Drivers in Georgia can expect to pay a bit more at the gas pumps in the days and weeks ahead.
That's the word from AAA officials this week, following the slight increase in prices this week in Georgia and nationwide.
AAA's website shows the average price for regular unleaded gasoline at $3.33 per gallon, as of today. That is one cent above last week's average statewide and three cents higher than at the same time last year.
Montrae Waiters of AAA says the use of the required summer blend of refined gasoline and crude oil prices reaching the mid-$80's range internationally are main reasons behind the increase.
Hall County commuters will see an average price at $3.28 per gallon, about five cents below state average. The lowest average price for regular gasoline in Northeast Georgia is in Hart County at $3.17 per gallon, and Towns County at $3.24 per gallon.
The average price for gasoline nationwide is $3.59 per gallon, at an increase of six cents from last week's rate. A full view of AAA's gas price lists for Georgia can be found, here.
