Habersham County Sheriff's Office sergeant resigns

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

A decorated, long time member of Habersham County's Sheriff's Office has stepped down from the job.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Rob Moore says that Sergeant Kris Hall submitted his resignation to the department on Monday, April 1, effective immediately.

Reasons behind the voluntary resignation were not released.  According to Moore, Hall had been with Habersham County's Sheriff's Office since November of 2016.

Hall was named the Georgia's Mothers Against Drunk Drriving (MADD) 2023 Officer of the Year from his work in charge of Habersham's Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic unit.

Hall unsuccessfully ran for Sheriff in Hall County back in 2020.
