Cornelia man facing DUI, other charges in Sunday chase through Habersham County

A man from Cornelia faces numerous charges after a St. Patrick’s Day chase in Habersham County.
 
A release from Habersham County Public Information Office Rob Moore said the Sheriff's Office was notified by the Georgia State Patrol Radio Room that a Georgia Department of Natural Resources Ranger was in active pursuit of a black Ford Maverick on Dicks Hill Parkway outside of the town of Mount Airy Sunday night before 9 p.m. 
 
Law enforcement joined in pursuit of the pickup truck along several Habersham County roads, including Hazel Creek Road, Camp Creek Road, Georgia State Route 365 southbound and Double Bridge Road. The fleeing truck, driven by Noah Park, 20, of Cornelia, eventually crossed over to go south in the northbound lanes of Georgia 365.
 
The release said when the driver attempted to turn left onto Demorest-Mount Airy Highway, the truck went out of control, crossed a ditch, and traveled up an embankment. 
 
Deputies then arrested Park on an assortment of charges. 
 
Georgia DNR charged Park with the following:
Fleeing or attempting to elude
Failure to obey stop sign
Reckless driving
Failure to maintain lane
Too fast for conditions
 
Georgia State Patrol charged Park with the following:
Driving under the influence
 
Habersham County Sheriff’s Office charged Park with the following:
Fleeing or attempting to elude
Seatbelt violation
Failure to yield right of way when turning
Failure to obey signs or control devices
Failure to obey traffic signal or light
Driving within a gore or median
Brake violation
Obstructing traffic / failure to yield right of way
Failure to maintain lane
Failure to signal lane change or turn
Taillights / taillight lenses required
Failure to obey stop sign 
Failure to obey stop sign
Failure to obey stop sign
Reckless driving
Park was being held in Habersham County Detention Center as of Monday morning. He has a $22,775 bond.
