Habersham County is assisting the local VFW Post in holding an event for National Purple Heart Day on August 7th.
To highlight this event, the Board of Commissioners will be proclaiming during this upcoming July 21st meeting recognizing the Purple Heart Veterans, declaring Habersham County a "Purple Heart County", and designating the date of August 7th as Purple Heart Day in Habersham County annually.
Those who attend the meeting are highly encouraged to wear purple to raise awareness for the event.
