FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — After Bruce Miller's resignation last week, Lanier Christian Academy did not have to look far for its next football coach.
In a press release issued Wednesday, LCA Athletic Director Blake Anderson announced that the Lightning have tapped defensive coordinator Joel Lulinski to replace Miller. Miller led the Lightning to three straight playoff appearances in the Georgia Association of Private and Parochial Schools division.
"We are thankful to name Coach Lulinski as the next Head Football Coach at Lanier Christian Academy," Anderson said. "Coach Lulinski’s...will continue to be the foundation of the football program, building upon that foundation of focus on the growth, development, and discipleship of all football players, on and off the field.”
Lulinski played an integral role in laying the foundation of the LCA football program, serving as defensive coordinator for the last five years and as assistant head coach under Miller for the last three years.
Coach Lulinski’s defenses have been among the stingiest units in school history and in GAPPS as a whole, ranking as a perennial power atop the league in defensive shutouts, scoring defense, and turnovers during the last three years.
Lullinski and the coaching staff will also host the LCA Football Information Meeting on Monday, March 18, at 6 p.m. in the Chapel at Chestnut Mountain Church for students, parents, and the LCA community.
