GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Both North Hall tennis teams remained unbeaten in Region 8-4A after taking thrilling identical 3-2 wins over Cherokee Bluff on Tuesday at the North Hall Courts.
The Lady Trojans had to survive a pair of three-set matches, rallying from a set down in both to pull out the victory.
Bluff swept the doubles with Erica Rosen and London McDaniel knocking off Amelia Moore and Mary Eloise Tymchuk at No. 1 and Camila Guevara and Callie Vokal beating Ali Moore and Braely Jarrard in another three-set match.
The Lady Trojans, however, swept the singles in dramatic fashion. Lilly Perry won in straight sets at No. 1 but Maggie Perry had to rally to Alyssa Baricerie 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2. Kate Tigers then pulled off another rally at No. 3 winning 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 to help clinch the match.
The North Hall girls improved to 10-1 overall and 6-0 in region play.
For the boys, Bluff got quick wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, with James Rivenbark beating Jack Maddox 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 and Boston Murphy taking a 6-0, 6-3 win over Griffin Keener at No. 2.
North hall, however, swept the doubles with Luis Delgado and Brooks Dorsey winning at No. 1 and Easton McNair and James Floyd taking a win at No. 2.
Cole Grover would clinch the match at No. 3 for North Hall, rallying from a set down as well for a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Jett Hewette.
The North Hall boys moved to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in region play.
North Hall will play host to Walnut Grove on Thursday.
