GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Both North Hall tennis teams continue to roll, taking wins over East Forsyth in Region 8-4A action on Thursday,
The North Hall took a 5-0 victory that was closer than the final score while the Lady Trojans won 4-1, with three matches going to third sets.
For the boys, Jack Maddox won in straight sets at No.1 singles while Griffin Keener at No. 2 and Cole Grover at No. 3 both had to rally from a set down to get wins.
Keener knocked off Garrett Sokol 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 while Grover rallied for a 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 win over Kai Maliszewski.
In doubles, Luis Delgado and Brooks Dorsey at No. 1 and Easton McNair and James Floyd at No. 2 both won in straight sets.
The boys improved to 8-2 and 5-0 region play.
In the girls match, East Forsyth’s Erika Terik beat Lilly Perry 6-0, 6-1 for their only point.
North Hall’s Maggie Perry beat Bryn Smith 6-1, 6-1 while the other three matches all went to deciding third sets. At No. 3 singles, Kate Rogers rallied from a set down to hold off Meredith Young 5-7, 6-0, 11-9.
In the doubles, North Hall’s Mary Eloise Tymchuk and Amelia Moore needed three sets to beat Gabby Ramey and Grace Young 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-4 at No. 1. At No. 2, Braely Jarrard and Ali Moore also needed three sets to get past Presley Cliff and Lexi Donaldson 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (5).
The Lady Trojans moved to 9-1 overall and 5-0 in the region.
Both North Hall teams will take on Cherokee Bluff next week.
