Officials with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group gathered Thursday morning to hold a groundbreaking/topping-off ceremony for a new Medical Plaza located on Thompson Bridge Road north of Gainesville.

NGPG Medical Plaza 1 off Thompson Bridge Road at Southers Road is expected to open in the fall of 2024. The Medical Plaza is part of a larger property owned by NGPG, called Thompson Bridge Medical Park. The property will be further developed down the line in subsequent phases.

The 14,000-square-foot building will provide family medicine, weight loss, gynecology, behavioral health and lab services.

"We're excited to have this space that will allow for even more new providers to come on board very soon, further extending access to Hall County," Daniel Tuffy, President and Chief Administrative Officer of NGPG said at the ceremony.

NGPG Thompson Bridge will move from its current facility to Medical Plaza 1, once complete.

"We have a huge need in northern Hall County, so we are happy to have this growth to be able to fulfill that need," Dr. Katie Dudas, a physician with NGPG Thompson Bridge said. "There's a tremendous amount of people who've been involved in this project. We are so grateful to be here and we are honored to grow and serve more people in our community."

A portion of the building has already been constructed, but Tuffy said the ceremony was pushed into February due to the Winter months.
