A Gainesville teenager was arrested Friday afternoon on charges related to a child molestation and aggravated sexual battery investigation that began late in 2023.
According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Daniel Hilario, 17, was arrested on the following charges, all related to the same juvenile victim:
- Child molestation (felony)
- Aggravated sexual battery (felony)
- Aggravated assault (felony)
- Enticing a child for indecent purposes (felony)
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (felony)
- Pointing gun/pistol at another (misdemeanor)
- Contributing to the delinquency of a minor (misdemeanor)
- Interference with custody (misdemeanor)
Hilario reportedly met the victim on social media in August. While giving the victim a ride, Hilario allegedly pointed a handgun at her.
The sexual abuse and other crimes happened between 10 p.m. on Sept. 2 and 1 a.m. on Sept. 2, in Hiario's pickup truck in a parking lot in the 4000 block of Thompson Bridge Road.
The incidents were reported to deputies on Nov. 9, when the victim disclosed them to an adult.
Hilario was being held in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Monday afternoon. The case remains under investigation.
