A Clarkston man was arrested Saturday after a collective investigation revealed that a suspect had burglarized two Dunkin Donuts locations in Gwinnett County.
The collective investigation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division and Uniform Division, resulting in the arrest of Lavan Hickman, 36, of Clarkston, Lawrenceville Police said Tuesday.
Officers responded to a burglary call on Jan. 13 at the Dunkin Donuts location at 4941 South Old Peachtree Road in Peachtree Corners. Through the overnight hours, the suspect allegedly smashed the front door of the business and stole cash from within, according to authorities.
A second incident occurred on Jan. 31 at the Dunkin Donuts located at 3941 Stone Mountain Highway in unincorporated Snellville. In that instance, the front door was also smashed and cash was stolen.
The ensuing investigation revealed the suspect was driving a black Infiniti SUV, according to police. By using various FLOCK cameras, authorities were able to determine the owner of the vehicle and obtain an arrest warrant for Hickman.
Hickman was arrested and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail Saturday. He has been charged with two counts of felony burglary.
