The City of Gainesville will observe the New Year's holiday on Jan. 1, which will result in several facilities and services being closed.
Gainesville officials said all administrative offices including the Gainesville Administration Building, Gainesville Community and Economic Development Building, Gainesville Public Safety Complex, Gainesville Water Resources Building (Queen City Parkway) and Gainesville Civic Center will be closed.
Community services such as Meals on Wheels, the Senior Life Center and Fingerprinting services will close.
We-Go services will be unavailable.
Garbage and recycling will not be picked up on New Year's Day.
Wednesday, customers should put their garbage and recycling curbside by 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, for collection. Thursday customers should put their garbage and recycling curbside by 6:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, for collection.

The City will return to normal business on Thursday, Jan. 2.
