Republican Mendy Moore wins Forsyth Co.'s fourth commission district

By Will Daughtry News Reporter
Republican Mendy Moore has won Forsyth County’s fourth commission district.

Moore ran against Democrat Kat Jewell for the district that covers the northeast part of the county,  getting 79-percent of the vote to Jewell’s 21-percent.

“I am honored and humbled that the voters of Forsyth County and District Four elected me to serve them and be their voice in all matters related to the county,” Moore told AccessWDUN.

The seat saw no incumbent running after Cindy Jones Mills announced earlier this year that she would not seek reelection.

“A couple of my priorities are going to concentrate on bringing in quality growth at a pace that our county can sustain and also investing in our infrastructure so that we can accommodate the growth that we’ve already seen,” Moore said.

Moore previously served as the GOP Chairman for Forsyth County.
