Forsyth County officials have announced that there will be one polling place open in the county on July 15 for the Georgia Public Service Commission Democrat primary runoff election.
Keisha Sean Waites and Peter Hubbard are running to face incumbent Republican Fitz Johnson in the District 3 PSC race. Neither Waites nor Hubbard received 50 percent of the vote in the June primary election, leading to the runoff.
The Forsyth County Government issued a statement Monday, saying the polling place for that July 15 runoff in the county will be the Cumming Recreation & Parks Department Event Center on Pilgrim Mill Road. Voting will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on election day.
The county said the reason only one polling place will be open for the county is that, under Georgia law, counties that had less than 1 percent of registered voters participate in an election are only required to open one polling place for a runoff in that same election.
