By Will Daughtry News Reporter

The Sautee Nacoochee Center is set to showcase a solo art exhibit by Laura Leiden.

The exhibit, titled “Following My Muse: Laura Leiden, 25 Years of Art,” kicked off on Friday at the Jim Thomas Invitational Gallery at the Sautee Nacoochee Center.

Leiden stated that she loves intense, bright color and is inspired by nature and jewels.

The Sautee Nacoochee Center said in a press release that the exhibit “illustrates her transition from representational painting in oil and watercolor, to abstract and imaginary images in acrylic and mixed media…”

Leiden has been a part-time resident of Sklake for over 20 years and is a full-time working artist.

The Sautee Nacoochee Center said she is an award-winning and internationally exhibited artist.

Her artwork as well as other art from local artists will be on display through Dec. 21.

The opening reception will be on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
