Northeast Georgia History Center presents the Gilded Age

The Northeast Georgia History Center at Brenau University will host on Jan. 24 a Homeschool day exploring the Gilded Age. 

A release from the history center said the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 322 Academy St. NE.

Eventgoers can meet historical characters like Susan B. Anthony, learn about the fashions and customs of the era, explore inventions of the World's Fair and participate in hands-on activities.

Scheduled programs include meeting Susan B. Anthony, portrayed by professional living history interpreter Cathy Kaemmerlen of Tattling Tales Productions Inc., and will begin at 10 a.m.

The other program, Fashion and Dances of the Gilded Age, presented by Kat Nagar of Atlanta Historic Dance, will begin at 12 p.m.

Ongoing activities include the World's Fair Exhibit Hall and the Souvenir Silhouette Portrait Station.
