An Athens man was airlifted to NGMC Gainesville on Thursday morning after a single-vehicle wreck in Stephens County.
According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, Austin Outz, 27, was allegedly driving a 2006 Honda CBR Motorcycle west on Skyliner Drive in Toccoa at 11:30 a.m. at a very high rate of speed.
When attempting to negotiate a curve, Outz lost control of the vehicle and ran off the north shoulder of the roadway.
After leaving the road, the vehicle then struck a curve and traveled 96 feet airborne before landing in the yard of 896 Skyliner Drive.
The impact caused the vehicle to travel for another 78 feet before coming to a rest on its side.
Outz was thrown from the vehicle and came to rest in the driveway.
He was then airlifted to NGMC Gainesville with suspected serious injuries.
Charges from this accident are pending.
