A person was transported to an area hospital after they were reportedly struck by lightning Thursday afternoon in Habersham County.
According to a press release from Habersham County Emergency Services, Habersham County E-911 received a call at about 4:35 p.m. Thursday claiming that the person had been struck by lightning, possibly twice.
The incident happened on Homer Stephens Road at Sandpoint Drive off Pea Ridge Road outside Cornelia.
The person was conscious and alert when units arrived. They were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville. The agency did not release any information about the person's condition.
