A pedestrian had to be airlifted to a hospital Wednesday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Ga. 197 near North Mize Road south of Clarkesville.
At approximately 12:50 p.m. a Silver 2021 Toyota Tacoma traveling southbound on Ga. 197 struck a pedestrian, Stephen Mizell, 32, of Lula, who was also traveling south. Mizell reportedly “darted in front of the Toyota Tacoma,” the Georgia State Patrol reported Wednesday.
Mizell was airlifted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville following the wreck.
A portion of Ga. 197 was closed down for nearly 75 minutes, according to Habersham spokesman Rob Moore.
