A man was airlifted to an area hospital after he was hit by a car Thursday morning on Old Historic U.S. 441 in Habersham County.
According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, the incident happened just before 10 a.m. at the road's intersection with Midway Crossing.
A 64-year-old man from Cornelia was driving a Honda Odyssey north on Old Historic U.S. 441 when the pedestrian allegedly stepped into the road in front of the vehicle. The vehicle then struck the man.
The pedestrian was airlifted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
The Georgia State Patrol said the pedestrian was still unidentified as of Thursday afternoon. The man did not have a wallet or information with him at the time of the accident. He was only described as a white man with dark hair.
